    The plane flow is considered in domain \[ \Omega=\{(x,y):\;-\pi\leq x\leq \pi,\;0\leq y \leq 1\}. \] Let \(Q=\Omega\times(0,T]\), \((u(x,y,t),v(x,y,t))\) is the vector of velocity of a fluid, \(p(x,y,t)\) is the pressure, \[ U(y)=\frac{a}{2\nu}y(1-y) \] is the parabolic equilibrium profile, \(a\) and \(\nu\) are positive parameters. The boundary control problem is studied \[ \begin{aligned} &\frac{\partial u}{\partial t}-\nu\Delta u +U(y)\frac{\partial u}{\partial x} +U'(y)v+\frac{\partial p}{\partial x}=0\quad \text{in}\quad Q,\\ &\frac{\partial v}{\partial t}-\nu\Delta v +U(y)\frac{\partial v}{\partial x} +\frac{\partial p}{\partial y}=0,\quad \text{div\,}(u,v)=0\quad \text{in}\quad Q. \end{aligned}\tag{1} \] \((u,v)\) satisfies to the periodic boundary conditions with respect to variable \(x\). Moreover \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial y}(x,0,t)=0,\quad \frac{\partial u}{\partial y}(x,1,t)=0,\quad v(x,0,t)=0,\quad v(x,1,t)=V(x,t). \] \(V(x,t)\) is the boundary control acting as a wall normal component on the top wall \(y=1\) of the channel \(\Omega\). There exists an infinite-dimensional subspace \(E^0\), where the normal component \(v\) of the velocity as well as the vorticity \(\omega\) are not influenced by the control \(V\). The corresponding dynamics for \(v\) and \(\omega\) are inherently exponentially stable on \(E^0\). The linear case is considered too \[ \begin{aligned} &\frac{\partial u}{\partial t}-\nu\Delta u +\frac{\partial p}{\partial x}=0 \quad \text{in}\quad Q,\\ &\frac{\partial v}{\partial t}-\nu\Delta v +\frac{\partial p}{\partial y}=0,\quad \text{div\,}(u,v)=0\quad \text{in}\quad Q. \end{aligned}\tag{2} \] For the problem (2), the stability margin of the component \(v\) on the complementary space can be enhanced by a prescribed decay rate, by means of explicit, normal controller acting on the top wall \(y=1\) whose space component is subject to algebraic rank conditions. Moreover its support may be arbitrary small.
