The author studies the Hamiltonian formulation of quantum dynamics of two in interacting qubits \[ H = \omega \sigma_z\otimes \mathbf 1 + \omega\, \mathbf 1 \otimes \sigma_z + \mu_x\sigma_x\otimes\sigma_x + \mu_z\sigma_z\otimes\sigma_z \] when either \(\mu_x=0\) (the symmetric case) or \(\mu_z=0\) (the non-symmetric case). Throughout the paper, the above Hamiltonian is used to illustrate the claims. In the first part of the paper, the geometry of the projective space \(\mathbb C\mathbb P^n\) is reviewed. In the second part the dynamics of the quantum Hamiltonian system when constrained to the submanifold of separable states is analysed with the help of Lagrange multipliers. Finally, numerical simulations show that in the case of a non-symmetric Hamiltonian the separability constraint gives rise to typical chaotic orbits.
