Steiner symmetrization and applications (Q2467887)

In this note the author illustrates some results contained in [\textit{A. Alvino, V. Ferone} and \textit{G. Trombetti}, Appl. Anal. 85, No. 1--3, 171--180 (2006; Zbl 1087.26010)] and [\textit{V. Ferone} and \textit{A. Mercaldo}, Commun. Partial Differ. Equations 30, No. 10--12, 1537--1553 (2005; Zbl 1152.35004)]. At first there is the question of finding the best constant in a kind of anisotropic Hardy-Sobolev inequality. At least in a special case the value of the best constant is found. Another question is to find a comparison result, via Steiner symmetrization, for solutions of a Neumann problem.
