Quasi-periodic and non-periodic waves in the (2 + 1)-dimensional generalized Broer-Kaup system (Q2468096)

This paper discusses the following \((2+1)\)-dimensional generalized Broer-Kaup(GBK) system: \[ u_{t}-u_{xx}+2uu_{x}+w_{x}+Ew+Fv=0, \] \[ v_{t}+2(uv)_{x}+v_{xx}+4E(v_{x}-u_{xy})+4F(v_{y}-u_{xy})+G(v-2u_{y})=0, \] \[ w_{y}-v_{x}=0, \] where \(E,F\) and \(G\) are arbitrary constants. When \(E=F=G=0\), the above system is degenerated to the \((2+1)\)-dimensional Broer-Kaup system. Using an improved projective Riccati equation approach which depends on a version of Painlevé expansion, the authors obtain several kinds of solutions of GBK system, including different types of periodic and quasi-periodic waves.
