Dimension theory and fuzzy topological spaces (Q2469001)

This paper contains 2 parts. First of all the authors continue the work of [\textit{J. M. Aarts}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 50, 419-425 (1975; Zbl 0313.54040)] on dimension functions in topological spaces by introducing a local dimension function for a hereditarily normal topological space. The new concept is compared to existing notions. Moreover the closed subset theorem, the open subset theorem as well as the sum theorem are proven for the local huge inductive dimension function. In the second part dimension functions are extended to Chang fuzzy topological spaces and some of the classical results obtained in the first part are generalised, among them a closed subset theorem for the large inductive dimension of a fuzzy topological space.
