Discretization of the Cauchy problem for a fast diffusion equation (Q2469614)

The authors consider a special type of time-dependent initial-boundary value problem described by a fast diffusion equation in the half-plane with an initial nonnegative continuous condition with a compact support. It is assumed that the problem possesses a positive blowing-up weak solution. A fully discretization of the problem, existence and uniqueness are established with regards to the positive solution of the numerical scheme. The uniform convergence to the exact weak solution on any compact subset of \([0,T]\times R\) is proved.
