The author studies implicit dynamical systems using the Birkhoffian formalism, i.e. the dynamics is described by a one-form on the second-order jet bundle. Within this formalism, the usual notions of Liapunov stability theory for equilibria are introduced. The main part of the paper is concerned with applying this theory to \(LC\) and \(RLC\) electrical networks. Finally, a concrete example is analysed.
