The author presents some fourth-order iterative methods for solving scalar nonlinear equations, which contain the well-known King's fourth-order family as a particular case. Per iteration the methods require two function evaluations and one first derivative evaluation. Numerical comparisons using Maple are made with several other existing methods to show the performance of the presented methods.
