[For part I cf. J. Algebra 42, 121-135 (1976; Zbl 0368.20012).] Let \(G\) be a finite \(p\)-group. The following results are proved. (1) If \(p^k\) is the maximal order of an exponent \(p\) subgroup of \(G\), \(p>2\), then \(|G:\mho_1(G)|\leq p^{k(\log_2k+2)}\). (2) Let \(p^r\) be the order of a maximal normal elementary Abelian subgroup of \(G\). If \(p>2\), then \(|G:\mho_1(G)|\leq p^{p(p+1)/2}\). (3) If \(p=2\) and \(2^r\) is the maximal order of a normal elementary Abelian subgroup of \(G\), then \(|G:\mho_2(G)|\leq 2^{r(3r+1)/2}\) (equality holds only if \(G\) is a \(2\)-group of maximal class \(\not\cong D_8\)). (4) If \(G\) and \(k\) are as in (1) with \(p=3\), then \(|G:\mho_1(G)|\leq3^{3k}\).
