The paper deals with ``marginally trapped'' surfaces in a semi- Riemannian manifold, i.e. with surfaces whose mean curvature vector field is light-like. The author classifies the marginally trapped Lorentzian flat surfaces in the pseudo-Euclidean space \(E^4_2\). As an application, the author obtains the classification of biharmonic Lorentzian surfaces in \(E^4_2\) with light-like mean curvature vector.
