Let \(f:X\to X\) be a continuous map on a compact topological space, and assume that there are pairwise disjoint closed sets \(A_1,\dots, A_k\) with \(f(A_i)\supseteq A_j\) for each~\(i\) and all \(j\). It is shown that the induced system \(2^f:2^X\to 2^X\), where \(2^X\) denotes the set of non-empty closed subsets of \(X\) with the topology induced by the Hausdorff metric, has a subsystem topologically semi-conjugate to a full \(k\)-shift. Further conditions are given to ensure conjugacy.
