The authors discuss the reconstruction of the density function of a two-dimensional object from its projections at unknown view angles. It is shown that, under certain assumptions, finitely many projections guarantee uniqueness. Here uniqueness is understood with respect to an appropriate equivalence relation, since it may fail, for example, for orthogonally transformed objects if the view angles are unknown. Furthermore, conditions for unique recovery of view angles also hold for ``almost all'' objects. The results are based on the analysis of object's moments and their proofs relay on certain tools from algebraic geometry.
