Asymptotically saturated algebras were introduced by Shokurov who conjectured that any graded algebra which is asymptotically saturated with respect to a log Fano fibration must be finitely generated. The main motivation is that the above conjecture implies the existence of pl-flips (which has since been settled by Birkar, Cascini, McKernan and the reviewer). Never the less, asymptotically saturated algebras seem to be interesting objects of study. In the paper under review, it is shown that the toric case of the above conjecture holds: Theorem. Let \(p :X\to S\) be a proper surjective toric morphism with connected fibers, \(B\) an invariant \(\mathbb Q\)-divisor such that \((X,B)\) is Kawamata log terminal and \(-(K_X+B)\) is \(p\)-nef. Let \(D\) be an invariant divisor on \(X\) and \(\mathcal L\subset \bigoplus _{i\geq 0}p_* \mathcal O _X(iD)\) be an invariant graded \(\mathcal O_S\)-subalgebra which is asymptotically saturated with respect to \((X/S,B)\). Then \(\mathcal L\) is finitely generated.
