Rectifying curves in the three-dimensional Euclidean space \(\mathbb{E}^3\) (i.e., curves having the property that their position vector always lies in their rectifying plane), were introduced by \textit{B.-Y. Chen} in [Am. Math. Mon. 110, No. 2, 147--152 (2003; Zbl 1035.53003)]. Also, the relationship between rectifying curves and the centrodes, were investigated by \textit{B.-Y. Chen} and \textit{F. Dillen} [Bull. Inst. Math., Acad. Sin. 33, No. 2, 77--90 (2005; Zbl 1082.53012)]. Rectifying curves and their properties have been studied in Minkowski three-space \(\mathbb{E}_1^3\) by \textit{K. Ilarslan, E. Nešović} and \textit{M. Petrović-Torgašev} in [Novi Sad J. Math. 33, No. 2, 23--32 (2003; Zbl 1090.53017)]. In this paper, the authors define rectifying curves in the dual space \(\mathbb{D}^3\) by using a method similar to that of B.-Y. Chen and obtain new and interesting results. Since a differentiable curve in the dual unit sphere corresponds to a ruled surface in \(\mathbb{E}^3\), there is a interesting link with the classical surface theory in \(\mathbb{E}^3\).
