    Extending a result of \textit{C. C. Yang} and \textit{X. Hua} [Ann. Acad. Sci. Fen. Math., Vol. 22, No.~2, 395--406 (1997; Zbl 0890.30019)] the authors prove the following result: Let \(f\) and \(g\) be two transcendental meromorphic functions and let \(a = a(z)\) \((\not\equiv 0)\) be a common small function of them and \(n\) \((\geq 11)\) be a positive integer. If \(f^{n}f'\) and \(g^{n}g'\) share \(0\) CM, then either \(f^{n}f'g^{n}g' \equiv a^{2}\) or \(f \equiv tg\) for a constant \(t\) satisfying \(t^{n + 1} = 1\).
