This paper discusses weakly contractive maps on complete metric spaces. By using different generalizations of the Banach contraction principle, three types of weakly contractive maps, namely, weakly contractive maps with the infimum of orbital diameters being 0, weakly contractive maps with an orbit on which the moving distance is bounded, and weakly contractive maps with bounded orbits are treated and some fixed point theorems are proved.
