A Banach space is \textit{minimal} if it embeds into any of its subspaces. The main result of the paper is that a Banach space \(X\) which is saturated with basic sequences which embed into their subsequences contains a minimal subspace. The hypothesis means that every subspace of \(X\) contains a basic sequence whose linear span embeds into the linear span of any of its subsequences. This is an isomorphic version of a result of \textit{A. M. Pelczar} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 131, No. 3, 765--771 (2003; Zbl 1033.46007)]. The proof uses infinite game theory, Silver's theorem, and mixes combinatorial methods on both subsequences and block-sequences; the last part of the proof follows that of Pelczar. It follows then from a result of \textit{C. Rosendal} [Fundam. Math. 183, No. 3, 253--274 (2004; Zbl 1078.46006)] that every Banach space is either ergodic or contains a minimal subspace. A Banach space \(X\) is called ergodic if the relation \(E_0\) on \(2^\omega\) in which two sequences are equivalent if and only if they are eventually equal, is Borel reducible to the relation of isomorphism between the subspaces of \(X\). That improves a result of \textit{V. Ferenczi, C. Rosendal} [Adv. Math. 195, No.~1, 259--282 (2005; Zbl 1082.46009)].
