The squares of the Dirac and spin-Dirac operators on a Riemann-Cartan space(time) (Q2472776)

The authors of this interesting paper study the theory of the Dirac and spin-Dirac operators on Riemann-Cartan space(time) and also on a Riemannian (Lorentzian) space(time). They introduce mathematical methods permitting the calculation of the squares of these operators, playing an important role in several important topics of the modern mathematics and theoretical physics (the geometry of moduli spaces of a class of black holes, the geometry of NS-5 brane solutions of type II supergravity theories and BPS solitons in string theories). A generalized Lichnerowicz formula is obtained, and several useful decomposition formulae for the Dirac and spin-Dirac operators in terms of the standard Dirac and spin-Dirac operators are given. It turns out, that if we use the fact that spinor fields have representatives in the Clifford bundle, then a noticeable relation can be found that involves the spin-Dirac and the Dirac operators. This relation may be eventually useful in theories using superfields.
