    The paper is devoted to the study of \(\alpha\)-convex operators on ordered Banach spaces. The main results are as follows. Theorem~1. Let \(P\) be a normal solid cone and \(A:P\rightarrow P\) be an increasing 1-convex operator satisfying (a) \(\exists u_0, v_0\in P\) such that \(u_0 < v_0, A u_0 \gg \theta\); (b) \(\exists M > 0\) such that \[ A y - A x \leq M (y - x) \text{ for all }\theta \leq x \leq y \leq v_0. \] Then (i) \(A([u_0, v_0]) = [A u_0, A v_0]\); (ii) \([u_0, v_0] \subseteq A([u_0, v_0])\). Theorem~2. Let \(\alpha>1\) and \(P\) be a normal cone. Suppose that \(A : P \rightarrow P\) is an increasing \(\alpha\)-convex, strict-set-contractive operator, satisfying \[ \inf\{\| A x\| : x\in P, \| x\| = 1\} > 0. \] Then \(A\) has at least one nonzero fixed point in \(P\). The last theorem is applied to the proof of the existence of a positive continuous solution to the nonlinear integral equation \[ x(t) = \int\limits_{0}^{1} k(t,s) [x^{\beta}(s) + x^{\gamma}]\,ds,\;\beta, \gamma > 1, \] with positive continuous kernel.
