The authors deal with questions as blow-up in finite time, blow-up rate, blow-up set and global existence for parabolic equations of the form \[ u_t= \text{div}(\rho(u) \operatorname{grad}u) +f(u). \] After an introduction, in Section 2 of the paper, they impose some conditions on \(f\) and a condition which relates the nonlinearities \(\rho \) and \(f\) in order to determine a lower bound on blow-up time if blow-up occur as well as determine when blow-up cannot occur. In Section 3, the authors consider an set of conditions on functions \(\rho \) and \(f\), conditions which are, as the author said ``easier to verify'', and for which analogous results may be determined. In Section 4, the authors presents a sufficient condition which guarantees that blow-up will occur in finite time as well as an upper bound for the blow-up time. The results are obtained by a differential inequality technique on suitably defined auxiliary functions, and extend some recent results of the authors.
