Assume that \(X\), \(Y\) and \(Z\) are metric spaces. Let \(f: (0, +\infty)\times X \to Y\), \(g: (0, + \infty) \times Y \to Z\) and \(h: (0, + \infty) \times X \to Z\) be continuous as functions of the second variable and satisfy \[ h(s + t, x) = g(t, f(s, x)). \] Fix \(t_{0} \in (0, + \infty)\). Using the theorem from the paper of \textit{K. Baron} and \textit{W. Jarczyk} [Aequationes Math. 69, No. 1--2, 28--31 (2007; Zbl 1086.39023)] the authors prove that: {\parindent=5mm \begin{itemize}\item[--] If \(Y\) is separable and there exists a Lebesgue measurable set \(M \subset (0, t_{0})\) with positive Lebesgue mesure such that \(f( \cdot, x)| _{M}\) is Lebesgue measurable for each \(x \in X\), then \(h| _{(t_{0}, + \infty) \times X}\) is continuous. \item[--] If \(Y\) is separable and there exists a Lebesgue measurable set \(M \subset (0, t_{0})\) of second category with the Baire property such that \(f( \cdot, x)| _{M}\) is Baire measurable for each \(x \in X\), then \(h| _{(t_{0}, + \infty) \times X}\) is continuous. \item[--] If \(f\) is continuous also in the first variable, then it is continuous. \end{itemize}} An example shows that the last theorem can not be true if the word ``metric'' be replaced by the word ``topological''.
