    The paper is concerned with the existence of vanishing at infinity solutions of a semi-linear elliptic equation \[ \Delta U+F(x,U,\nabla U)=0,\qquad\left| x\right| >A, \tag{1} \] where \(F\) is a Hölder continuous function satisfying \[ 0\leq F(x,w)\leq a\left( \left| x\right| \right) w,\qquad w\geq0,\quad\left| x\right| >A, \] and \(a\) is a continuous function. It is proved that equation ({1}) has a solution \(U\) satisfying \[ 0<U(x)\leq\frac{u\left( \left( n-2\right) \left| x\right| ^{n-2}\right) }{\left( n-2\right) \left| x\right| ^{n-2}}=O\left( \left| x\right| ^{\left( C-1\right) \left( n-2\right) }\right) \] as \(\left| x\right| \rightarrow\infty\) provided that \[ r^{n-2}\int_{r}^{\infty}\frac{a(s)\,ds}{s^{n-3}}\leq\left( n-2\right) \gamma,\qquad r\geq\left( n-2\right) A^{n-2},\quad\gamma\in(0,1/4]. \]
