This article deals with polar maps of homogeneous polynomials. Explicitly, the polar map of \(F \in \mathbb{C}[x_0,\dots,x_n]\) is the rational map \(\nabla F: \mathbb{P}^n\dasharrow \mathbb{P}^n\) given by \[ x=(x_0:\dots:x_n)\dasharrow (\frac{\partial F}{\partial x_0}(x):\dots:\frac{\partial F}{\partial x_n}(x)). \] Reduced polynomials which induce birational polar maps were classified by \textit{I. V. Dolgachev} [Mich. Math. J. 48, 191--202 (2000; Zbl 1080.14511)]. He also conjectured similar results for non-reduced polynomials and that the topological degree of \(\nabla F\) could be deduced by the zero locus of \(F\). \textit{A. Dimca} and \textit{S. Papadima} [Ann. Math. (2) 158, No. 2, 473--507 (2003; Zbl 1068.32019)] settled Dolgachev's conjecture was settled by giving a topological proof relying on complex Morse theory. In the article under review, the authors describe a proof using logarithmic foliations.
