Let \({\mathcal X}\) be a flat and proper Deligne-Mumford stack of finite presentation over an algebraic space \(S\), and assume that \({\mathcal X}\) has, in the fppf topology, a finite and flat covering by an algebraic space. For any separated Deligne-Mumford stack \({\mathcal Y}\) of finite presentation, the natural fibred category of functors \(\underline{\text{Hom}}_S({\mathcal X},{\mathcal Y})\) is also a Deligne-Mumford stack [\textit{M. C. Olsson}, Duke Math. J. 134, No. 1, 139--164 (2006; Zbl 1114.14002)]. The ``boundedness'' theorem proven in the note under review is the following. If, furthermore, \({\mathcal Y}\to W\) is a quasi-finite, proper and surjective map to an algebraic space \(W\) of finite presentation over \(S\), then the map \(\underline{\text{Hom}}_S({\mathcal X},{\mathcal Y}) \to \underline{\text{Hom}}_S({\mathcal X},W)\) is of finite type.
