Null-exact controllability of a semilinear cascade system of parabolic-hyperbolic equations (Q2474772)

The paper is devoted to the null-exact controllability of a cascade system formed by a semilinear heat and a semilinear wave equation in a cylinder domain. The authors mainly intend to drive the solution of the heat equation (resp. wave equation) exactly to zero (resp. exactly to a prescribed but arbitrary final state). The case when the control acts only on the heat equation and occupies some subdomain of the phase domain is considered. In the wave equation, a restriction of the solution to another subdomain appears. As the main result of the paper it is shown that, under appropriate assumptions on both subdomains and on the final time moment, the equations are simultaneously controllable.
