The paper under review deals with the following six types of algebras: [1] the rational Cherednik algebra \(\mathrm{H}_{0,c}\) associated to the complex reflection group \(W\); [2] the graded (or degenerate) Hecke algebra associated to the complex reflection group \(W\); [3] the extended affine Hecke algebra associated to a finite Weyl group \(W\); [4] the quantized enveloping algebra of a complex Lie algebra at a root of unity; [5] the corresponding quantum Borel; [6] the corresponding quantized function algebra. All these algebras have a regular central subalgebra \(Z\) over which they are free of finite rank. These algebras (or closely related algebra in the case of a quantized function algebra) also have a PBW type basis. The authors use these two properties to show that every pair \(Z\subset R\), where \(R\) is from the list above, is a free Frobenius extension. This is applied to investigate the Calabi-Yau property and the property of being symmetric for these algebras. In particular, the authors prove that the restricted rational Cherednik algebra at \(t=0\) is symmetric answering a question of Rouquier.
