    Given a Banach space \(X\), a weight is a continuous bounded mapping \(v\) from \(B_X\), the open unit ball of \(X\), into \((0,\infty)\). For a weight \(v\), the space of weighted holomorphic functions on \(B_X\) is defined as \({\mathcal H}_v(B_X):=\{f: B_X\to {\mathbb C}\) holomorphic: \(\| f\| _v= \sup_{x\in B_X}v(x)| f(x)| <\infty\}\). With the norm \(\| \cdot\| _v\), \({\mathcal H} _v(B_X)\) becomes a Banach space. A weight \(v\) is said to be norm-radial if \(v(x)=v(y)\) when \(\| x\| =\| y\| \), and non-increasing if it is a non-increasing function of \(\| x\| \). Given Banach spaces \(X\) and \(Y\) and a holomorphic function \(\varphi:B_X\to B_Y\), the composition operator \(C_\varphi\) from the space of holomorphic functions on \(B_Y\) to the space of holomorphic functions on \(B_X\) is defined by \(C_\varphi f=f\circ\varphi\). Necessary and sufficent conditions on \(\varphi\) for \(C_\varphi\) to map \({\mathcal H}_{v_Y}(B_Y)\) continuously into \({\mathcal H}_{v_X}(B_X)\) are given in [\textit{D. García, M. Maestre} and \textit{P. Sevilla-Peris}, Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn., Math. 29, No. 1, 81--98 (2004; Zbl 1064.47022)]. A \(JB^*\)-triple is a Banach space \(Z\) such that, for each point \(a\) in \(B_Z\), there is a biholomorphic function \(s_a:B_Z\to B_Z\) such that \(s_a^2=\text{Id}\) with \(a\) the unique fixed point of \(s_a\) in \(B_Z\). The authors suppose that \(X\) is a Banach space, \(Z\) is a \(JB^*\)-triple, \(v_X\) a weight on \(B_X\) and \(v_Z\) is a norm-radial and non-increasing weight on \(B_Z\) for which there exists \(K>0\) with the propertythat if \(z\in Z\), \(x\in X\) with \(\| z\| \leq\| x\| \), then \(v_z(z)\geq Kv_X(x)\). Setting \(l(r)=\widetilde v_Z(z)\) for \(\| z\| =r\), the authors show that \(C_\varphi:{\mathcal H}_ {v_Z}(B_Z)\to {\mathcal H}_{v_X}(B_X)\) is a continuous composition operator for each holomorphic mapping \(\varphi:B_X\to B_Y\) if and only if there is \(M>0\) such that \(l(r)\leq M l(r/2)\) for all \(r\) sufficiently small.
