The authors consider a thin micropolar fluid film with a wall slip boundary condition at the fluid-solid interface. This condition links velocity and microrotation at the interface by introducing a so-called ``boundary viscosity''. By way of asymptotic analysis, the authors derive a generalized micropolar Reynolds equation. Numerical results show the influence of the new boundary condition on load and friction coefficients. Comparisons are made with other works which use the no-slip boundary condition.
