Quantum effects can be thought of as two-valued quantum measurements. Sequential products of such measurements have been studied in [\textit{A. Gheondea} and the author, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 132, No. 2, 503--512 (2004; Zbl 1059.47041)]. In the present paper, the concept of a sequential product is extended to the more general discrete quantum measurements. Two types of measurement equivalence are considered and their relationships with compatibility and the sequential product are discussed. Refinements of measurements are defined and it is shown that they produce a partial order on the set of measurements. Lattice properties of this partially ordered set are briefly discussed. Convex combinations of measurements are defined and shown to have properties similar to those of effects. Considered are also coexistence of two measurements and conditioning a measurement relatively to another one.
