Local integrability of the Euler-Poisson equations (Q2477451)

The author considers the integrability of the Euler-Poisson equations describing the motion of a heavy rigid body with a fixed point. The author develops the normal forms of the equations, enabling the identification of six real sets of solutions, where the equations are locally integrable. Several theorems are presented, but there is very little attention given to application nor is there much discussion about the significance of the results. The analysis appears to be based primarily upon earlier work by the author. Nevertheless, the paper could be of interest and use to mathematicians and analysts concerned with local integrability issues.
