Let the matrices \(A=(a_{ij})\) and \(B=(b_{ij})\) have the same dimensions. The Hadamard product of \(A\) and \(B\) is defined by \(A\circ B=(a_{ij}b_{ij})\). The Fan product of \(A\) and \(B\) is defined by \(A\star B=(c_{ij})\), where \[ c_{ij}=\begin{cases} -a_{ij}b_{ij}, \quad &i\not=j\\ \phantom{-}a_{ii}b_{ii}, &i=j. \end{cases} \] An \(n\times n\) real matrix \(A\) is called a nonsingular M-matrix if \(A=\alpha I-P\) with \(P\geq 0\) and \(\alpha >\rho(P)\), where \(\rho(P)\) is the spectral radius of \(P\). If \(A\) is a nonsingular M-matrix, there exists a minimum eigenvalue \(\tau(A)\) of \(A\), and \(\tau(A)=(\rho(A^{-1}))^{-1}>0\) with the corresponding eigenvector being nonnegative. Suppose \(A\) and \(B\) are nonsingular M-matrices, a sharp lower bound on the smallest eigenvalue \(\tau(A\star B)\) for the Fan product of \(A\) and \(B\) is given, and a sharp lower bound on \(\tau(A\circ B^{-1})\) for the Hadamard product of \(A\) and \(B^{-1}\) is derived. The author also gives a sharp upper bound on the spectral radius of \(\rho(A\circ B)\) for nonnegative matrices \(A\) and \(B\).
