The content of this paper is the use of a theorem of \textit{L. Lorentzen} and \textit{H. Waadeland} [Continued Fractions with Applications. Studies in Computational Mathematics 3. North-Holland (1992; Zbl 0782.40001), pp. 150--151], as a tool to extend Worpitzky's Theorem [ibid., pp. 35--36] to establish the convergence in the entire complex plane of certain particular type of continued fractions of the form \[ G(q):=b_0(q)+K_{n=1}^\infty\frac{a_n(q)}{b_n(q)}, \] where \[ a_nk+s(q)=f_s(q^n),\qquad b_nk+s-1(q)=g_{s-1}(q^n), \] for some \(f_s(x)\), \(g_{s-1}(x)\) in \(\mathbb Z[q][x]\) for some \(k\geq 1\) and \(1\leq s\leq k\). As an example, this type includes the Gölltnitz-Gordon continued fraction, with \(k=1\).
