The author considers the quartic Diophantine equation \(x^4+py^4=z^4\) where \(p\) is a prime number and the unknowns \((x,y,z)\) belong to a quadractic number field. His main result is: Theorem. All quadractic solutions to the equation \(x^4+py^4=z^4\) for \(p\equiv 3 \pmod 8\) can be written in the form \((a,b,\sqrt c)\) where \((a,b, c)\) is a rational solution to \(x^4+py^4=z^2\).
