The idea in this paper is to dualize some objects which occur in the theory of local cohomology modules. Local cohomology functors are derived from torsion functors in a formal way; torsion functors are related to the support and the support of a module can be described using localization functors. The preceding sentence has the following Matlis dual version: Local homology functors are derived from completion functors in a formal way; completion functors should be related to a ``co-support'' and the ``co-support'' of a module should be described using ``co-localization'' functors. In this paper such ``co''-notions are defined in such a way that the author can prove (among other results) a vanishing theorem for local homology which is essentially dual to a well-known vanishing theorem for local cohomology: If \(I\) is an ideal of a noetherian ring \(A\) and \(M\) is an \(A\)-module which is noetherian or artinian then \(H^I_j(A)=0\) for all \(j\) greater than the dimension of the cu-support of \(M\). It is also shown that co-localization and co-support behave nicely in the sense that they have properties dual to localization and support, resp.
