The author considers the following autonomous difference equation \[ x_n = {{\alpha x_{n-k}}\over{1+x_{n-k}+f(x_{n-1},\dots,x_{n-m})}},\quad n\in N_0:=\{0,1,2,\dots\} \] with \(k,m\in N\) and \(f\) a continuous function in all arguments satisfying \[ \beta\min\{u_1,\dots,u_m\}\leq f(u_1,\dots,u_m)\leq\beta\max\{u_1,\dots,u_m\} \] for some \(\beta\in(0,1)\). From the above inequalities it follows that if \(\alpha>1\) then this equation has \(\bar{x}=(\alpha-1)/(\beta+1)\) as unique positive equilibrium. Under all these assumptions this equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable with respect to the set of all positive solutions.
