The author studies analogues of Jacobi forms, called Hermitian Jacobi forms, obtained by replacing Siegel modular forms by Hermitian modular forms associated with the ring of Gaussian integers. His main interest is to show that the following three spaces are isomorphic: 1) \(J_{k,1}\), the space of Hermitian Jacobi forms of weight \(k\) and index 1; 2) \(M^+_{k-1}(4)\), the space of modular forms on the congruence group \(\Gamma_1(4)\), whose Fourier expansion have the property \(a(n)=0\) for \(n\equiv 1\pmod 4\) (an analogue of Kohnen's ``+''-space). 3) \(\mathcal M_k\), the space of Hermitian Jacobi forms of weight \(k\) and degree 2, whose Fourier coefficients satisfy certain relations. This is an analogue of Maass' Spezialschar. Using the work of \textit{M. Eichler} and \textit{D. B. Zagier} [The theory of Jacobi forms. Prog. Math. 55. Boston etc.: Birkhäuser (1985; Zbl 0554.10018)] and the theory of theta functions, they prove that the three spaces are isomorphic to each other in general. They also determine the structure of \(J_{k,1}\) with the first Fourier-Jacobi coefficients of Hermitian modular forms of degree~2.
