    Consider the system of linear differential equations \[ x'= A(t)x,\quad x\in\mathbb{R}^n,\quad t\geq 0,\tag{\(*\)} \] and the perturbed system \[ y'= (A(t)+ Q(t))\,y,\quad y\in\mathbb{R}^n,\quad t\geq 0, \] where \(A(.): [0,\infty)\to\mathbb{R}^n\) is piecewise continuous and uniformly bounded and, for \(\sigma> 0\), \[ Q\in \text{Exp}^n_\sigma\overset{\text{def}}= \{Q(.):\| Q(t)\|\leq C_Q\exp(-\sigma t), t\geq 0\}, \] where \(C_Q\) is a constant depending on \(Q\). The following results are established: {\parindent7mm \begin{itemize}\item[(i)] \(0\leq \sigma^0(A)\leq 2a\), where \(a=\varlimsup_{t\to\infty}\| A(t)\|\) and \[ \sigma^0(A)\overset{\text{def}}= \lim_{\delta\to 0}\,\varlimsup_{k\to\infty}\,\max_{\delta k\leq i\leq k} {1\over i}\ln{\| X(k, i)\|\,\| X(i)\|\over\| X(k)\|},\quad k,i\in N, \] where \(X(.,.)\) is the Cauchy matrix of system \((*)\) and \(X(.)\) is the fundamental matrix of \((*)\). \item[(ii)] \(\overline\sigma_N(A)= \sigma^0(A)\), where \(\overline\sigma_N(A)\) is the upper stability coefficient of the \(N\)th exponent of \((*)\). \end{itemize}}
