    The authors study blowup solutions of the weakly coupled parabolic system \[ \begin{cases} u_t-\Delta u=v^p & \text{in} \;(0,T)\times\mathbb R^N,\\ v_t-\Delta v=u^q & \text{in} \;(0,T)\times \mathbb R^N,\\ u(0)=\lambda \varphi_1 & \text{in}\;\mathbb R^N,\\ v(0)=\lambda^\gamma \varphi_2 & \text{in}\;\mathbb R^N,\\ \end{cases} \] where \(p,q\geq 1,\) \(pq>1,\) \(\lambda>0,\) \(\gamma={{q+1}\over{p+1}}\) and \(\varphi_1, \varphi_2\in C^0(\mathbb R^N)\) are certain nonnegative functions. If \((p,q)\) is sub-critical or either \(\varphi_1\) or \(\varphi_2\) has slow decay at \(\infty,\) the solution \((u_\lambda,v_\lambda)\) blows up for all \(\lambda>0.\) It is also studied the behaviour of the solution for small \(\lambda.\)
