Collapse of attractors for ODEs under small random perturbations (Q2480819)

Attractors for random dynamical systems and their corresponding noiseless (deterministic) systems are compared. It is shown that if the random systems have negative time trajectories that are transient or explode with probability one, then the random attractor cannot contain an open set. It is also shown that deterministic attractors ``collapse'' under additive white noise in higher dimensions when an order-preserving property is lacking.
