    Given a measure space \((X,\Sigma,\lambda),\) the space weak \(L^{1}\) on \(X\) is the Lorentz space \(L^{1,\infty}(X,\Sigma,\lambda)\) and consists of all equivalence classes of real valued \(\Sigma\)-measurable functions \(f\) on \(X\) for which \(| | | f| | | =\sup\left\{ \delta>0:\delta\lambda\left( \left\{ s\in X:\left| f(s)\right| >\delta\right\} \right) \right\} <\infty;\) the functional \(| | | \cdot| | | \) is a lattice quasinorm and makes weak \(L^{1}\) a topological vector lattice. The main result asserts that in the dual of weak \(L^{1},\) the subspace of all rearrangement invariant continuous linear functionals is lattice isometric to a space \(L^{1}(\mu)\) (and also the range of a positive contractive projection). Interestingly, the dual of weak \(L^{1}\) contains a norm closed weak*-dense ideal which is lattice isometric to an \(\ell^{1}\)-sum of spaces of type \(C(K)\) (each \(K\) being hyperstonian).
