Irreducibility and mixed boundary conditions (Q2481629)

The authors consider positive semigroups on \(L^p(\Omega)\) generated by elliptic operators \(A\) subject to mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions on Lipschitz domains \(\Omega.\) It is proved that for functions \(b\in L^\infty(\Omega;\mathbb R)\) such that \(b\geq \delta\) for some \(\delta>0,\) the semigroup \(e^{tbA_p},\) \(1<p<\infty\) is positive, irreducible and compact.
