The author presents a survey of some results on the stability theory for finite-dimensional systems obtained in context with vector Lyapunov functions and comparison technique. Generalizations of some of those results are obtained by using vector functions whose components are sign-definite with respect to a part of variables. It is shown that this approach may simplify the construction of an appropriate vector Lyapunov function.
