The authors study the difference equation \[ x_n- x_{n-1}= -F(x_n)+ G(x_{n-k}, x_{n-k+1},\dots, x_{n-1}),\quad n> 1,\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(k\in\mathbb{N}\), \(f: \mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R}\) is continuous and nondecreasing, and \(G: \mathbb{R}^k\to \mathbb{R}\) is continuous. By employing comparison technique and invariance properties of a positively limited set, the convergence of precompact orbits of a class of discrete-time flow is investigated. These abstract results are applied to \((*)\) to obtain the large-time behaviour of solutions.
