This paper studies the stability of a thin elastic plate with dynamical boundary feedback control. Starting with the distributed parameter system that governs the vibration of the plate, the authors formulate the problem as an evolution equation. To this equation they apply a non-linear method used in a paper of Rao (quoted in the bibliography) and they establish an energy decay rate of \(1/t\) for the smooth initial data. They obtain strong stability in the absence of compactness of the resolvent of the infinitesimal operator.
