Classification of the incompressible spanning surfaces for prime knots of 10 or less crossings (Q2488026)

The author classifies the minimal genus spanning surfaces for knots with up to 10 crossings, and gives the structure of the set of isomorphism classes as a graph. The vertices of this graph are spanning surfaces up to isotopy, connected by a simplex when the corresponding surfaces can not be chosen to be disjoint. The techniques used depend on Gabai's work on sutured manifolds.
