The author explains that his motivation is to apprehend the problem of `lack of divisibility' in the ring of formal power series in several variables, having remarked that while, plainly, \(x/y\in k[[T]] \) if and only if \(y/x\in k[[T]]\), with elements \(x\), \(y\) of \(k[[T]]\), the analogous claim for \(k_{N}=k[[T_{1},\ldots\,, T_{N}]]\) is in general false. The present paper partially alleviates that difficulty by proving an interesting diophantine result showing that irrational algebraic elements of \(K_{N}\) cannot be too well approximated by elements of \(K_{N}\).
