The paper under review initiates the investigation of mirror symmetry in the setting provided by the generalized complex structures introduced by \textit{N. Hitchin} [Q. J. Math. 54, No. 3, 281--308 (2003; Zbl 1076.32019)]. The topics discussed are \(T\)-duality, mirror symmetry for generalized almost Kähler structures, transverse foliations, branes, and the relationship between the mirror transformation of spinors and the Fourier transform. It is noteworthy that the paper includes almost all the necessary background of generalized complex geometry.

The paper under review is a sequel to another paper by the same author [J. Geom. Phys. 56, No. 4, 533--558 (2006; Zbl 1096.14031)] devoted to the idea of mirror symmetry in the setting of generalized complex geometry. One of the theorems of the present paper gives an integrability criterion for semi-flat generalized almost complex structures on vector bundles equipped with flat connections (Theorem~2.3). As a corollary, such semi-flat generalized almost complex structures induce pairs of transverse Dirac structures on the base of the vector bundle under consideration. One then obtains similar results for torus bundles. In this context, a particularly interesting statement says that a semi-flat generalized almost complex structure on a torus bundle is integrable if and only if its mirror structure on the dual torus bundle is integrable (Corollary~3.5). In the same framework of mirror symmetry for torus bundles, one also investigates the Fourier-Mukai transform for spinors. The paper concludes by a section including examples of mirror images of \(B\)-field and \(\beta\)-field transforms, \(B\)-complex structures on tangent bundles, and \(B\)-symplectic structures on cotangent bundles.
