The authors consider the numerical solution to Maxwell's equations at fixed frequency describing the scattering of electromagnetic waves from a metallic cylinder of 50 nm-diameter and infinite length in vacuum. In order to overcome the Gibbs phenomenon, they use the Gegenbauer technique [\textit{D. Gottlieb,} \textit{Chi-Wang Shu,} \textit{A. Solomonoff,} and \textit{H. Vandeven}, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 43, No. 1--2, 81--98 (1992; Zbl 0781.42022)]. Some numerical examples are provided.
