Solution operator approximations for characteristic roots of delay differential equations (Q2489720)

Provided that delay differential equations (DDEs) still deserve theoretical and numerical studies, because of their relevance in applications (e.g. in control theory), the author enlarges the class of the methods which use the infinitesimal generator approach. Some of them were already published by the author himself. Here a new method for the numerical computation of characteristic roots for linear autonomous systems of DDEs is presented together with a complete convergence analysis. Some nice numerical examples are reported to enlighten the effectiveness of the method.
