The author generalizes an equality from [\textit{G. H. Hardy, J. E. Littlewood} and \textit{G. Polya}, Inequalities. (Cambridge): Univ. Press. (1934; Zbl 0010.10703)] to the case of inequality between rectangular matrices. The proposed preorder is generated in a usual way by a row-stochastic matrix. Some mathematical properties of the introduced inequality are proved. The author suggests applications in economics.
